RIVER CLEAN-UP

The annual River Clean-up is an event organized and promoted by the Cortland County SWCD in an effort to maintain the natural beauty and water quality of our county’s waterways. This one day event is led by community groups, local schools, church organizations, businesses, family and friends, all of whom form local clean-up teams.

Sites are determined by each group and approved by the SWCD. Coordination, supplies and materials are provided by SWCD. This community effort has collected over 1,000 lbs/yr and attracted over 100 volunteers annually.

Donations and contributions from area businesses, municipal sponsors, and grants allow for proper waste disposal and no cost to volunteers.
