COMMUNITY
SWCD provides services to communities related to natural resource management that range from education and planning, to design and engineering, to grant writing and administration. SWCD also provides hydroseeding services to control erosion and stabilize critical areas.
SWCD maintains an extensive library of text books, journals, and reports. These technical references contain useful and informative natural resource, water quality, and agricultural information. Many of these provide historical and statistical data. Numerous brochures and other literature are available to help Cortland County residents understand and protect their water resources. The Geographic Information System (GIS) that is maintained and utilized by SWCD contains a wealth of useful information that can be transmitted and utilized electronically including soils, hydrography, topography, and water quality.
